Currently, I am an Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at State University of Maringá, Paraná, Brazil, with full dedication since 2006. I graduated in Pharmacy (1998) at the State University of Maringá. I obtained my M.Sc. (2001) and my Ph.D. (2005) in Biochemistry at University of São Paulo. I also participated in post-doctoral training at the National Institute of Environment Health Sciences (NIEHS) (2006), as well as in the role of visiting scholar at University of Central Florida (2014-2015) supported by CAPES and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (2018 and 2019) supported by HUMBOLDT/CAPES. I am the leader of the research group “Biological Activity and Mechanism of Action of Natural Products”, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. My research is focused on the search for compounds (synthetic or natural) that are able to modulate the cellular redox state and that have antimicrobial, antitumoral, or photoprotection activity. I have published sixty scientific papers (h-index=21) and two book chapters. I have been the principal investigator for five PhD theses and twelve master´s dissertations and I have supervised four post-doctorates.
