Chaolei Zheng received his Bachelor's degree in Geoscience from Henan University in 2006, his Master's degree in Physical Geography from the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009, and his PhD in Environmental and Energy Systems from Shizuoka University, Japan in 2013. He is now pursuing his career as an associate researcher at the Aerospace Information Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He worked as a foreign researcher at Shizuoka University (2013–2014), and then moved to the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth, Chinese Academy of Sciences, where he was promoted to assistant researcher in 2020. His research topics mainly include the remote sensing of the water cycle, with a focus on evapotranspiration observation, simulation, and remote sensing monitoring.
