Dr. Fernando P. Monroy is a Professor at the Department of Biological Sciences, Northern Arizona University, USA. He holds a M.S. and Ph.D. in Immunoparasitology from the University of Queensland. His research interests include host–pathogen interactions, alcohol and infection, virulence factors in Helicobacter pylori, immunodiagnosis of leptospirosis, and intestinal immune responses to infection. He is particularly interested in H. pylori infections in underrepresented populations and in determining the current rates of antibiotic resistance in Northern Arizona.
