Perwez Alam is a professor in the Department of Pharmacognosy at the College of Pharmacy at King Saud University. He has worked on the isolation of natural products, the quality control of herbal drugs, the optimization of extraction methods for the maximum extraction of active phytoconstituents from medicinal plants, and the pharmacological evaluation of isolated phytoconstituents as well as plant extracts.
