This study aimed to identify and characterize biopsychosocial factors that impact the purpose in life (PIL) among adults that are working or already retired. This cross-sectional study includes a sample of 1330 participants, of whom 62.2% were female, with ages ranging from 55 and 84 years, with a mean of 61.93 years and a standard deviation of 7.65. Results suggest that the education level, stress, spirituality (religion) and optimism, social support from friends, and quality of life related to physical health seem to contribute positively to the PIL for both groups. However, some variables such as age, marital status and environmental quality of life help explain the PIL of retired people and the quality of life related to social support helps explain the PIL of working adults. Overall, the reported findings suggest that the purpose in life is strongly related to physical, psychological, social and environmental health factors. It is highlighted that working adults and retired people have their purpose in life related to similar factors and others specific to each life stage, suggesting the need for crucial interventions to promote a healthier and more positive aging process.

To maximize the potential of sex education, it is essential to optimize aspects related to the environment, the trainer–trainee interaction, and the quality of training. The objective of the present study was to identify and describe the satisfaction of higher education students with sex education training. An exploratory, descriptive, and cross-sectional study was carried out using the Student Satisfaction with Higher Education questionnaire, which was applied to a sample of 132 higher education students from several countries. In the statistical analysis using the SPSS software version 28, non-parametric tests were used, namely, the Mann–Whitney test and the Kruskal–Wallis test, in addition to Spearman’s correlation coefficient. Overall, the participants considered themselves very satisfied with the sex education training provided (χ = 4.77). The largest contribution to the satisfaction of the higher education students with the sex education training was the “quality of the training organization (environment and content)” (χ = 4.79). Educators and policymakers have the role of designing, implementing, and evaluating programs that satisfy college students and encourage them to strive for more sex education training aimed at promoting well-being, happiness, and sexual health.

Introduction: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide, with a significant impact on quality of life. Self-management is crucial for controlling the disease, reducing exacerbations, and decreasing hospital admissions. The aim of this study is to identify the gains attributable to Rehabilitation Nursing care in empowering self-management in elderly individuals with COPD. Methodology: A Rapid Literature Review (RLR) was conducted, including four randomized clinical trials (RCTs) and two quasi-experimental studies, obtained from EBSCOhost between 2018 and 2023. Results: This study analyzed self-management interventions in 505 elderly individuals with COPD (mean age 70.6 years, 66.9% male). Most studies presented a low risk of bias. The interventions, including physical and cognitive rehabilitation, educational programs, and technology-based interventions, resulted in improvements in quality of life, well-being, functionality, self-management, self-efficacy, and self-care, with sustained gains in patient knowledge and activation. Additionally, significant improvements were observed in physical symptoms, such as dyspnea, and emotional symptoms, such as anxiety. Conclusion: Our review highlights the central role of Rehabilitation Nursing in empowering the elderly for effective COPD self-management. The implementation of these interventions improves disease management, autonomy, and quality of life for patients. These interventions show great potential for reducing costs associated with exacerbations and hospitalizations, promoting a patient-centered, integrated, holistic, and personalized approach, essential for economic sustainability and better health outcomes.

Todos apresentam qualidade metodológica conforme as diretrizes do Instituto Joanna Briggs.

Background: Understanding participants’ perceptions of educational interventions is essential for improving the quality and acceptability of training in sexual and reproductive health. In the context of sex education, evaluating satisfaction provides relevant information about how training is experienced and perceived by participants in different social and geographical settings. Objectives: This study aims to explore and characterise women’s satisfaction with sex education training sessions and to analyse differences in perceived satisfaction between urban and rural contexts, focusing on organisational aspects and trainer–participant interaction. This study does not seek to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention, but rather to examine the participants’ perceived experience of the training. Methods: A quantitative, exploratory, descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted using the Women’s Satisfaction Questionnaire on Sex Education Training. The sample consisted of 180 women from different European countries, including 94 participants from urban areas and 86 from rural areas. Data were collected after the training sessions and analysed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), version 29. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were performed, with a significance level set at p < 0.05. Results: Overall, satisfaction levels were high, with 93.3% of participants reporting high satisfaction. The highest-rated aspects included clarity of session objectives (mean = 4.63), a supportive learning environment (mean = 4.61), and perceived relevance of the content (mean = 4.54). Satisfaction was high across both dimensions analysed—organisation of training and trainer–participant interaction. Statistically significant differences were observed according to sociodemographic variables, particularly age, education level, and area of residence, with women in rural areas reporting higher satisfaction. Conclusions: The findings highlight a high level of satisfaction among women participating in sex education training sessions, particularly regarding organisational quality and the interaction established with the trainer. These results provide a detailed understanding of factors associated with the participants’ perceived experience of training in different contexts. However, the study is limited to the assessment of satisfaction and does not allow conclusions to be drawn regarding the effectiveness of the training or its impact on behavioural or health outcomes.
