Her research career is focused on the Internet of Things, computational intelligence and intelligent systems. The quality of her research is evident in the more than 20 research projects she has participated in, being the head of four research projects focused on intelligent environments and soft computing techniques in the last five years. Since 2014, her research has focused on intelligent environments, and she has led the analysis, design and development of the UJAmI Smart lab at the University of Jaén. She is the head of the ASIA research group called "Advances in Intelligent Systems and Applications". Currently, she is participating in two European projects: REMIND-2016 and Pharaon 2019.
