Dr. Yong Niu is an associate researcher and PI team leader at the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences. He holds a master’s degree in agronomy from Huazhong Agricultural University, majoring in wetland resources and environment, and a doctorate in engineering from Hohai University, majoring in urban water management. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences. His research interests are regional pollution processes and ecological and environmental effects, environmental information, and environmental prediction. His main research areas are water ecological environment safety investigation and assessment; ecological environment big data analysis and algorithm development; water ecological environment supervision system design; and watershed water ecological environment risk prevention and control. He has presided over and participated in many national and municipal scientific research projects. He has published several scientific research papers and a monograph and has more than ten patents. He has won the first and second prizes of the Environmental Protection Science and Technology Award.
