Biography

Erik T. Crosman studies numerical weather prediction, synoptic, mesoscale, and boundary-layer meteorology with a focus on lake-atmosphere interactions. Research interests include cold-pool modeling, thermally-driven flows (including sea and lake breezes), satellite meteorology, and boundary-layer observational platforms. Current research in basin meteorology and air quality: numerical modeling of wintertime cold pools, observing ozone spatial patterns in the Great Salt Lake Basin. Crosman is alo working on an observational platform to measure ozone and particulate sensors on a light rail train and also have installed air quality sensors on a news helicopter. Crosman is currently utilizing satellite data to retrieve lake temperature for weather models and climate.
