Bernhard Resch received his medical degree at the Karl-Franzens-University Graz, Austria, in 1988. In 2004, he became an Associate Professor at the Medical University of Graz, Austria, and in 2012, he became a Professor of Pediatrics. Currently, he is the Deputy Chief of the Division of Neonatology of the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine and Head of the Research Unit for Neonatal Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology of the Medical University of Graz, Austria. His research has included neonatal sepsis, inflammatory markers, respiratory syncytial virus, cytomegalovirus, and periventricular leukomalacia in preterm infants.
