His research focuses on the molecular epidemiology of C. difficile and C. difficile infection (CDI) prevention and control, pathogenesis of Clostridium difficile and host immune/inflammatory responses to CDI. He collaborates with U.S. CDC to study the disease burden of CDI and CDI intervention in China.
