Dr. Iván Ignacio Mejía is Head of the Translational Medicine Laboratory at the Military School of Graduates of Health, Mexico. He completed his PhD in Medical Research with a focus on Experimental Therapeutics at the National Polytechnic Institute and holds a degree in Molecular Biology and Military Medicine. He has received several honors, including the National Biomedical Research Award "Antonio López de Silanes" in 2021. Dr. Mejía recently led institutional projects on gene expression in breast cancer, pharmacogenetics in epilepsy, and a clinical trial on vitamin D3 in COVID-19. He has published over 12 peer-reviewed articles in national and international journals and serves as a thesis director and collaborator on various biomedical research projects. His teaching disciplines include Molecular Biology, Experimental Medicine, and Research Methodology. His research interests focus on neuroinflammation, oxidative stress, cancer biology, pharmacogenomics, and translational medicine.
