Dr. Wanda Sikorska graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry of the Silesian University of Technology. In 2000, she obtained her doctoral degree from the same university. Currently, she works at the Centre of Polymer and Carbon Materials PASci as a biodegradation specialist. She is the author and co-author of 55 scientific papers. Dr. Sikorska takes part in research projects financed from EU and national sources. Her main scientific interests are biodegradable and functional polymers and the synthesis of biodegradable polymers possessing designed architecture. Her current research involves novel biomaterials, including copolymers and blends of controlled biodegradability containing synthetic analogs of natural polyhydroxyalkanoates. Dr. Wanda Sikorska is a laureate of the Scholarships of the Foundation for Polish Science and the Marie Curie Fellowship, a type of Knowledge Transfer.
