Dr. Yung-Husan Chen: Unveiling Marine Pharmaceutical Frontiers My academic odyssey commenced at Kaohsiung Medical University, Taiwan, where I pursued a Ph.D. in Natural Medicine Research from September 2003 to January 2009. Career Trajectory: Presently, I serve as an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy at Xiamen Medical College, a role I've held since January 2015. My academic journey commenced as a lecturer at Xiamen Medical Higher Vocational School from August 2014 to January 2015. Expertise: Over my academic and professional journey, I have cultivated expertise in several areas: Carbohydrate Chemical Analysis: Analyzing carbohydrates and their significance in biological and pharmaceutical applications. Isolation and Purification of Active Compounds: Proficiency in isolating and purifying active compounds from natural sources, vital in pharmaceutical research. Spectroscopic Analysis: Utilizing spectroscopic techniques for compound identification and characterization. Career Synopsis: My career has been dedicated to unlocking marine pharmaceutical resources, striving to enhance human health. As an Associate Professor, I've mentored aspiring researchers, guiding nine undergraduate thesis students in natural compound isolation and spectroscopic identification. My research has resulted in 53 papers in international SCI journals, including 17 as the first or co-first author.
