Dr. Manasés González-Cortazar is an Associate Researcher. He belongs to the National System of Researchers (SNI) and is at level 2 of 3. Dr. Gonzalez-Cortazar’s field of research is the structural elucidation of natural compounds with pharmacological activity present in extracts of medicinal plants. He has experience in the isolation and chemical elucidation of secondary metabolites from medicinal plants (biodirected chemical studies), such as in the case of sage (S. elegans, S. sessei, S. gesneriflora), Morinda citrifolia, Hematoxylum campechanium, and Echinacea purpurea, and Xoconostle (O. matudae).
