Dr. Asier Ibeas was born on July 7, 1977, in Bilbao (Spain), and he is currently a full professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He earned his degree in Physics from the University of the Basque Country in 2000, followed by a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering and Automation in 2006, also from the University of the Basque Country. His area of expertise focuses on modelling and controlling the spread of epidemics. His research interests include time-delayed systems, robust adaptive control, applications of artificial intelligence to control systems design, and nonconventional applications of control, such as epidemic systems, supply chain management, and numerical systems.
