Wei Zhang is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the College of Aeronautical Engineering, Civil Aviation University of China, Tianjin, China. He is a Senior Member of the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineers. He received his Ph.D. in mechanical manufacturing and automation at the Tianjin University in 2007. He was a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Structural and Material Mechanics, École Supérieure de l'Aeronautique et de l'Espace, France in 2010, and the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA from 2017 to 2018. His main research directions are intelligent ground missions near aircraft, airport operation safety assurance technology and systems, robotics integrated with artificial intelligence, and mechanical dynamics.
