Demerval Soares Moreira is a professor and researcher in the Physics and Meteorology Department, Faculty of Science, São Paulo State University (Unesp), Bauru-SP. Moreira's research focuses on atmospheric modeling, with a particular emphasis on numerical modeling, the carbon cycle, biomass burning aerosols, land surface processes, meteorological radar and atmospheric radiation. Moreira has a BS and MS in Meteorology from the University of São Paulo (USP) and a PhD in Meteorology from the Brazilian Institute for Space Research (INPE).
