Dr. Keivan Kabiri is a senior researcher and associate professor specializing in remote sensing and coastal ecosystem monitoring. He earned his Ph.D. in Remote Sensing from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2014, following his MSc and BSc degrees in Photogrammetry and Surveying from Khaje Nasir Toosi University of Technology in Tehran. Since 2002, he has been affiliated with the Iranian National Institute for Oceanography and Atmospheric Science (INIOAS), where he led the Department of Oceanographic Data and Remote Sensing for several years. Dr. Kabiri's interdisciplinary research spans oceanography, coral reef ecology, mangrove dynamics, satellite-derived bathymetry, and UAV-based mapping. He has made significant contributions to the development of remote sensing applications for the Persian Gulf and Caspian Sea regions, particularly in coral reef monitoring, red tide detection, and sea surface temperature analysis. He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles and numerous conference proceedings, focusing on applied Earth observation and environmental monitoring. In addition to his prolific scientific output, Dr. Kabiri is active in national and international collaborations, with notable engagements in marine conservation, ecosystem vulnerability assessments, and climate-related studies. His recent research integrates machine learning techniques with conventional remote sensing for enhanced coastal mapping and habitat monitoring.
