Iltaf Shah obtained his MSc and PhD from Kingston University London. He continued his work at Kingston University London, UK, first as a Postdoc and then as a Research Scientist and Lecturer.
In 2015, he moved to UAE University Al Ain, UAE, and started working as an Assistant Professor before becoming an Associate Professor of Biochemistry at UAEU.
He has a postgraduate qualification in learning and teaching in higher education (PGC-LTHE) from KU, London, UK.
He has also obtained a NVQ-4 (BBA) qualification in management and leadership skills for scientists from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), UK.
He is a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, UK, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK, and a Member of the Chartered Management Institute, UK.
His research interests are as follows:
• Vitamins (especially vitamin D) as markers for different diseases such as dementia/ Alzheimer’s.
• Drugs of abuse, steroids, and the bioanalysis of antioxidants in human body matrices (especially hair).
• Nutrition, toxicology, spectroscopy, separation science, chromatography, and mass spectrometry.
• Drug delivery, development, validation and analysis, and forensic science.
