The different distance-based parameters are used to study the problems in various fields of computer science and chemistry such as pattern recognition, image processing, integer programming, navigation, drug discovery, and formation of different chemical compounds. In particular, distance among the nodes (vertices) of the networks plays a supreme role to study structural properties of networks such as connectivity, robustness, completeness, complexity, and clustering. Metric dimension is used to find the locations of machines with respect to minimum utilization of time, lesser number of the utilized nodes as places of the objects, and shortest distance among destinations. In this paper, lower bound of local fractional metric dimension for the connected networks is improved from unity and expressed in terms of ratio obtained by the cardinalities of the under-study network and the local resolving neighbourhood with maximum order for some edges of network. In the same context, the LFMDs of prism-related networks such as circular diagonal ladder, antiprism, triangular winged prism, and sun flower networks are computed with the help of obtained criteria. At the end, the bounded- and unboundedness of the obtained results is also shown numerically.

The concept of locating number for a connected network contributes an important role in computer networking, loran and sonar models, integer programming and formation of chemical structures. In particular it is used in robot navigation to control the orientation and position of robot in a network, where the places of navigating agents can be replaced with the vertices of a network. In this note, we have studied the latest invariant of locating number known as local fractional locating number of an antiprism based convex polytope networks. Furthermore, it is also proved that these convex polytope networks posses boundedness under local fractional locating number.

The parameter of distance plays an important role in studying the properties symmetric networks such as connectedness, diameter, vertex centrality and complexity. Particularly different metric-based fractional models are used in diverse fields of computer science such as integer programming, pattern recognition, and in robot navigation. In this manuscript, we have computed all the local resolving neighborhood sets and established sharp bounds of a metric-based fractional dimension called by the local fractional metric dimension of the rotationally symmetric line networks of wheel and prism networks. Furthermore, the bounded and unboundedness of these networks is also checked under local fractional metric dimension when the order of these networks approaches to infinity. The lower and upper bounds of local fractional metric dimension of all the rotationally symmetric line networks is also analyzed by using 3D shapes.

Metric dimension is one of the distance-based parameters which are used to find the position of the robot in a network space by utilizing lesser number of notes and minimum consumption of time. It is also used to characterize the chemical compounds. The metric dimension has a wide range of applications in the field of computer science such as integer programming, radar tracking, pattern recognition, robot navigation, and image processing. A vertex in a network resolves the adjacent pair of vertices if attains an unequal distance from end points of . A local resolving neighbourhood set is a set of vertices of which resolve . A mapping is called local resolving function of if for any adjacent pair of vertices of of and the minimal value of for all local resolving functions of is called local fractional metric dimension of . In this paper, we have studied the local fractional metric dimension of wheel-related networks such as web-wheel network, subdivision of wheel network, line network of subdivision of wheel network, and double-wheel network and also examined their boundedness.
