Dr. Zhiqiang Xia is a Professor at Hainan University specializing in tropical crop genomics and AI-driven breeding. He leads a research team at Sanya Nanfan Research Institute focusing on genome assembly, low-cost genotyping technologies (Hyper-seq), and intelligent breeding platforms. Notable works include chromosome-scale genomes of macadamia, passion fruit, and autotetraploid potato (published in Molecular Plants, The Innovation, Molecular Horticulture, Plant Biotechnology Journal).
