Francesco Napolitano is a Research fellow at the Institute for Polymers, Composites, and Biomaterials of the National Research Council (IPCB-CNR), Pozzuoli, Italy. He received his Ph.D. in Industrial Products and Processes Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II, in February 2019 with the thesis “Smart Sensor Monitoring in Machining of Difficult-To-Cut Materials”. During the period spent as a research fellow of the University of Naples Federico II, he focused his attention on process sensor monitoring, metal additive manufacturing, 3D printing, and the reinforcement methodology of polymeric filaments. In November 2022, he started to work at IPCB-CNR and his research activities include the thermo-mechanical characterization of recycled polymers, development of sustainable process, and development of polymeric blends and composites aimed to reduce the environmental impact.
