Professor Bert Vandenberg is based at the University of Saskatchewan and occupies the ‘Industrial Research Chair in Genetic Improvement of Lentil’ (supported by the Saskatchewan Pulse Growers Development Board). Bert is passionate about breeding many different legume crops for key agronomic, nutritional and processing traits, as well as understanding the role of legumes with respect to the social-science aspects of sustainable agri-food systems too.
