Fog-based MANET (Mobile Ad hoc networks) is a novel paradigm of a mobile ad hoc network with the advantages of both mobility and fog computing. Meanwhile, as traditional routing protocol, ad hoc on-demand distance vector (AODV) routing protocol has been applied widely in fog-based MANET. Currently, how to improve the transmission performance and enhance security are the two major aspects in AODV’s research field. However, the researches on joint energy efficiency and security seem to be seldom considered. In this paper, we propose a source anonymity-based lightweight secure AODV (SAL-SAODV) routing protocol to meet the above requirements. In SAL-SAODV protocol, source anonymous and secure transmitting schemes are proposed and applied. The scheme involves the following three parts: the source anonymity algorithm is employed to achieve the source node, without being tracked and located; the improved secure scheme based on the polynomial of CRC-4 is applied to substitute the RSA digital signature of SAODV and guarantee the data integrity, in addition to reducing the computation and energy consumption; the random delayed transmitting scheme (RDTM) is implemented to separate the check code and transmitted data, and achieve tamper-proof results. The simulation results show that the comprehensive performance of the proposed SAL-SAODV is a trade-off of the transmission performance, energy efficiency, and security, and better than AODV and SAODV.
Unmanned surface vehicle (USV) formation is a hot topic of current research. Path planning is the core technology for USV formation. This paper focuses on a USV formation path planning problem considering kinetic constraints. Firstly, an improved A* algorithm is proposed to solve the point-to-point path planning of a USV considering kinetic constraints. In this algorithm, the yaw constraint is introduced on top of the position constraint to extend the state space of the USV to three dimensions, and the convergence speed is accelerated by building a heuristic map. The dynamics model of the USV is used to generate the minimum trajectory elements to ensure that the path conforms to the kinetic constraints. Secondly, the mathematical model of USV formation based on the virtual structure method is established, and the path planning scheme of formation navigation and formation reconfiguration is given according to the improved A* algorithm. Finally, we carry out a USV model identification experiment for SL900 USV and simulation experiments based on the model. The experimental results show that the output path of the proposed method is smoother compared with the traditional method. This method can provide a globally safe path with kinetic constraints for USV formation navigation and formation reconstruction.
In an intelligent driving environment, monitoring the physiological state of drivers is crucial for ensuring driving safety. This paper proposes a method for monitoring and analyzing driver physiological characteristics by combining electronic vehicle identification (EVI) with multimodal biometric recognition. The method aims to efficiently monitor the driver’s heart rate, breathing frequency, emotional state, and fatigue level, providing real-time feedback to intelligent driving systems to enhance driving safety. First, considering the precision, adaptability, and real-time capabilities of current physiological signal monitoring devices, an intelligent cushion integrating MEMSs (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) and optical sensors is designed. This cushion collects heart rate and breathing frequency data in real time without disrupting the driver, while an electrodermal activity monitoring system captures electromyography data. The sensor layout is optimized to accommodate various driving postures, ensuring accurate data collection. The EVI system assigns a unique identifier to each vehicle, linking it to the physiological data of different drivers. By combining the driver physiological data with the vehicle’s operational environment data, a comprehensive multi-source data fusion system is established for a driving state evaluation. Secondly, a deep learning model is employed to analyze physiological signals, specifically combining Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks. The CNN extracts spatial features from the input signals, while the LSTM processes time-series data to capture the temporal characteristics. This combined model effectively identifies and analyzes the driver’s physiological state, enabling timely anomaly detection. The method was validated through real-vehicle tests involving multiple drivers, where extensive physiological and driving behavior data were collected. Experimental results show that the proposed method significantly enhances the accuracy and real-time performance of physiological state monitoring. These findings highlight the effectiveness of combining EVI with multimodal biometric recognition, offering a reliable means for assessing driver states in intelligent driving systems. Furthermore, the results emphasize the importance of personalizing adjustments based on individual driver differences for more effective monitoring.
LoRa (Long Range), a wireless communication technology for low power wide area networks (LPWANs), enables a wide range of IoT applications and inter-device communication, due to its openness and flexible network deployment. In the actual deployment and operation of LoRa networks, the static link transmission scheme does not make full use of the channel resources in the time-varying channel environment, resulting in a poor network performance. In this paper, we propose a more effective adaptive data rate (ADR) algorithm for low-cost gateways, we firstly analyze the impact of the different hardware parameters (RSSI, SNR) on the link quality and classify the link quality using the fuzzy support vector machine (FSVM). Secondly, we establish an end device (ED) throughput model and energy consumption model and design different adaptive rate algorithms, according to the different link quality considering both the link-level performance and the MAC layer performance. The proposed algorithm uses machine learning to classify the link quality, which can accurately classify the link quality using a small amount of data, compared to other adaptive rate algorithms, and the link parameter adaptation algorithm can maximize the throughput while ensuring the link stability, by considering the link-level performance and the MAC layer performance, compared to other algorithms. The results show that it outperforms the standard LoRaWAN ADR algorithm in both the single ED and the multi ED scenarios, in terms of the packets reception rate (PRR) and the network throughput. Compared to the LoRaWAN ADR in 32 multi-ED scenarios, the proposed algorithm improves the throughput by 34.12% and packets the reception rate by 26%, significantly improving the network throughput and the packets reception rate.
With the wide utilization of wireless sensor networks(WSN), higher reliability and stability are being pursued gradually. In most cases, the communication capability for sensor network is influenced by the complex environmental conditions, the open characteristics of channels, the energy limitations of nodes, as well as network protocol design issues, ultimately leading to the high possibility of network failure. As a result, a timely and accurate fault diagnosis is of much significance for a network to ensure the stable operation and execution efficiency. This article firstly demonstrates the diagnostic process on the following three aspects, including the collection for network fault information, fault detection, and diagnosis process. In addition, the features of commonly used technologies are also analyzed and compared in order to identify their application scope respectively. Finally, this paper makes the summary for the possible development trends and future research directions of fault diagnosis.
