Yanbin Yao is a professor at the China University of Geosciences of Beijing, where he received his BSc (2005) and PhD (2008) in unconventional natural gas geology. Since 2009, he has worked as a lecturer (2009-2010), associate professor (2011-2014) and professor (2015-now) at the School of Energy Resources, China University of Geosciences of Beijing. He has broad experience in the realm of unconventional gas exploration and exploitation. He has authored 2 books, 3 book chapters and >100 SCI-index papers in peer-reviewed journals, of which 8 have been selected as ESI Highly Cited Papers. His papers have been cited over 8000 times (by Google Scholar).
