Researchers have studied instances of power line technical failures, the significant rise in the energy loss index in the line connecting the distribution transformer and consumer meters, and the inability to control unauthorized line connections. New, innovative, and scientific approaches are required to address these issues while enhancing the reliability and efficiency of electricity supply. This study evaluates the reliability of Internet of Things (IoT)-aided remote monitoring systems specifically designed for a low-voltage overhead transmission line. Many methods of analysis and comparison have been employed to examine the reliability of wireless sensor devices used in real-time remote monitoring. A reliability model was developed to evaluate the reliability of the monitoring system in various situations. Based on the developed models, it was found that the reliability indicators of the proposed monitoring system were 98% in 1 month. In addition, it has been proven that the reliability of the system remains high even when an optional sensor in the network fails. This study investigates various IoT technologies, their integration into monitoring systems, and their effectiveness in enhancing the reliability and efficiency of electrical transmission infrastructure. The analysis includes data from field deployments, case studies, and simulations to assess performance metrics, such as accuracy, latency, and fault detection capabilities.

In this article, the tasks of energy efficient operation of a mobile station in wireless communication system were considered. At the same time, the main attention was paid to the consideration of ensuring energy efficient data delivery to the mobile station while meeting the transmission delay requirements. In particular, the operation of a standard power saving mode control algorithm in an IEEE 802.16m network was investigated. Issues related to the functioning of this algorithm when receiving data streams with variable intensity were studied. To conduct such a study, a model of a data transmission system was developed and a universal characteristic was introduced for comparing various control algorithms for the energy saving mode-the energy efficiency coefficient. In addition, an optimization problem was formulated for choosing the parameters of the energy saving mode. After analyzing the existing control algorithm for the energy saving mode, an effective control algorithm was proposed, the use of which makes it possible to achieve a gain in the energy efficiency coefficient of up to 20% when receiving a data stream with variable intensity.

This research focuses on the development of a comprehensive system for the remote monitoring of low voltage overhead power lines (OPL), incorporating both power theft and fault detection mechanisms through Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). The primary objective is to enhance the efficiency and reliability of power distribution networks by implementing a robust monitoring solution. The methodology involves deploying a network of wireless sensors strategically along the power lines to continuously collect data on voltage, current, and other relevant parameters. Advanced algorithms are employed to analyze the data, enabling the identification of power theft incidents and the prompt detection of faults. The system leverages WSN technology to facilitate real-time communication between the sensors and a central monitoring station, enabling remote surveillance and control. The results highlight a significant improvement in the overall integrity of the power distribution system, with a notable reduction in power theft instances and a quicker response to faults.

The Stable operation of mobile communication base stations depends on a continuous and reliable power supply. Power outages can lead to a decrease in communication quality or even complete service interruptions, negatively affecting users and threatening system reliability. Therefore, there is a growing need for energy management approaches based on mathematical modelling to ensure an uninterrupted power supply and improve overall system efficiency. In this article, a mathematical model of the power supply system for a mobile communication base station is developed. Based on the developed mathematical model, the mobile communication base station power supply system was simulated in the Proteus Professional 8.17 SP2 program. The simulation model enabled the simulation of the power source control system under various operating conditions, allowing for the evaluation and analysis of the power supply sources based on these conditions. Based on this model, experimental tests were conducted. The results of these tests demonstrated that the model is capable of providing a rapid response to power interruptions in the base stations, depending on the status of the energy sources, thereby ensuring an uninterrupted power supply. It was also found that utilizing supercapacitors as a primary power source during interruptions reduced the response time by a factor of 10.
