Dr. Séverin Hatt’s research focuses on agroecosystem diversification for the delivery of ecosystem services. In particular, he explores whether introducing flowering plants in cropping systems would strengthen conservation biological control of insect pests. His research is entrenched in the larger concept of agroecology: as an agronomist and ecologist, he studies ecological processes in agroecosystems, and he is also interested in building bridges with the other disciplines because agriculture is intrinsically related to social, political and economic dimensions.
