Dr. M. A. Viraj J. Muthugala received his Bachelor’s and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, in 2014 and 2018, respectively. He is currently a Research Fellow with the Engineering Product Development Pillar, Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), Singapore. His current research interests include maintenance and inspection robotics, reconfigurable robotics, service robotics, human–robot interaction, and intelligent systems. He was a recipient of the Nanjing City Prize in IEEE Ro-Man 2018 and a Runner-up in the Mini Drone Competition at IEEE/RSJ IROS 2018. He was the Assistant Secretary of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, Sri Lanka Section Chapter, from 2017 to 2019.
