She completed her PhD in Agro-Industrial Engineering in 2004 at the University of Lisbon - Instituto Superior de Agronomia, her Master's in Viticulture and Oenology in 1996 at the same institution, and her Degree in Agro-Industrial Engineering in 1989 at the University of Lisbon - Instituto Superior de Agronomia. She is a researcher at the National Institute of Agricultural and Veterinary Research (INIAV) in Portugal, working in the field of Enology at the Polo de Inovação de Dois Portos - INIAV. Since 2013, she has also been an integrated researcher at the MED-University of Évora. Her research focuses on Enology, particularly on studying the flavor compounds in aged wine spirits and wines using chemical (GC-O, GC-FID, and GC-MS) and sensory approaches.
