Dr. Sara Canas, currently serving as Coordinator Researcher at Instituto Nacional de Investigação Agrária e Veterinária (Polo de Inovação de Dois Portos/Estação Vitivinícola Nacional) since December 2023, and as Coordinator of Polo de Inovação de Dois Portos since April 2021, has a
distinguished career in food science research. Holding a Ph.D. in Food
Engineering from Instituto Superior de Agronomia/University of Lisbon (2003), Dr. Sara Canas has
been actively involved in academia and research, achieving the Habilitation in
Food Engineering in 2017. With over three decades of experience, investigating spirit beverages, and particularly the wine spirits, Dr. Sara Canas has made significant contributions to the field and
currently holds key positions in food science research and innovation.
