Simona Bennici is a CNRS permanent researcher at the “Institute of Material Science of Mulhouse” (IS2M), France. She joined the “Clean and Renewable Energies” team at IRCELYON in 2007, where she mainly worked in the “energy storage” domain. She obtained her PhD in December 2005 in Industrial Chemistry at the University of Milano (Italy). She did a postdoctoral fellowship on “Spectroscopic Process Control” at Utrecht University (The Netherlands) in 2006 and obtained the HDR (Habilitation) in 2013. In 2011 she obtained the bronze medal of the CNRS for her work concerning hydrogen storage and calorimetry, and since September 2016, she joined the IS2M of Mulhouse, where she heads the “Transfers, reactivity, materials and clean processes” group. Her research interests concern heat storage, biomass valorization (pyrolysis and gasification), catalysis (preparation and characterization of oxide materials), and the study of adsorption/desorption phenomena.
