Game Theory (GT) formalizes dispute scenarios between two or more players where each one makes a move following their strategy profiles. The following paper introduces the integration of GT to selection and crossover steps of Genetic Algorithms as an evolutionary model of the representation of population in a similar way to human social evolution. Two ideas are proposed to be incorporated into the GA. First, the Genetic Algorithm with Social Interaction (GASI), a family of GAs that uses GT in selection phase to increase the diversification of the solutions. Second, the (Game-Based Crossover) GBX and GBX2 crossover operators, competition-based tournament selection methods that employ social dispute to generate more diverse offspring. Performance and robustness of the new approaches were assessed by ten continuous and constrained engineering design optimization problems and compared against variants of the canonical GA, as well as well-known heuristics from the literature. Results indicate significant performance relevance in most instances compared to other algorithms and highlight the benefits of combining GT and GA.
This paper presents a modified genetic algorithm (GA) using a new crossover operator (ADX) and a novel statistic correlation mutation algorithm (CAM). Both ADX and CAM work with population information to improve existing individuals of the GA and increase the exploration potential via the correlation mutation. Solution-based methods offer better local improvement of already known solutions while lacking at exploring the whole search space; in contrast, evolutionary algorithms provide better global search in exchange of exploitation power. Hybrid methods are widely used for constrained optimization problems due to increased global and local search capabilities. The modified GA improves results of constrained problems by balancing the exploitation and exploration potential of the algorithm. The conducted tests present average performance for various CEC’2015 benchmark problems, while offering better reliability and superior results on path planning problem for redundant manipulator and most of the constrained engineering design problems tested compared with current works in the literature and classic optimization algorithms.
This article presents a systematic mapping, with an analysis of 35 selected works according to established criteria, seeking to connect the points and find relevant information for the following research areas: basic life support, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, serious games, and games for healthcare. Among the main results found, we can mention the representativeness of works by regions and their most productive years, the most common platforms, noting a focus on VR technologies, in addition to identifying the preference for the Unity 3D tool for implementations. It was also possible to show that serious games can be very effective in teaching CPR.

Game Theory (JT) is a mathematical theory that assesses in the strategy games the understanding and interaction of the actors, being an important tool in the identification and analysis of conflicts. Therefore, the objective was to analyze conflicts over water use and propose mitigating measures in the Hydrographic Region of the Middle Tocantins, applying after the identification of possible conflict-generating agents, the JT. This made it possible to identify the conflict scenarios and the degree of intensity in which they occur, varying at high, medium and low levels. The "players" reported that many environmental impacts and conflicts could be avoided if communication were better, emphasizing the need to create a basin committee, which will allow greater interaction between users. Therefore, the JT when used as a tool to identify conflict scenarios due to the use of water, proves to be quite effective, enabling the modeling of scenarios to minimize conflicts.
