Ke Xu received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Science and Technology, Beijing, in 1993 and a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Science and Technology, Beijing, in 1998. From 1998 to 2000, he was a post-doctorial researcher at the University of Science and Technology, Beijing, and RWTH-Aachen, Germany. Currently, he is a professor at the Collaborative Innovation Center of Steel Technology, the University of Science and Technology, Beijing. His research interests include surface inspection, machine vision, and intelligent systems.
