I am a plant eco-physiologist, especially interested in the ecology of foundation species, such as seagrasses and acacia trees. Studying seagrasses for over a decade, I have focused on the tropical seagrass species Halophila stipulacea, with studies in its native and invasive habitats, both in the field and in our mesocosm. I work on seagrass mapping, temporal and spatial dynamics, stress responses, ecological interactions, biotechnological applications of seagrasses, understanding the seagrass microbiome and molecular ecology.
