Prof. Michiaki Fukui is a professor at the Department of Endocrine Metabolism, Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, Kyoto, Japan. He earned his PhD from the Graduate School of Medical Science, Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, Japan, in 1998. His work experience is as follows: 2002–2006: specialist in endocrinology and diabetes, JR Osaka Hospital, Osaka, Japan; 1999–2001: specialist in endocrinology and diabetes, Ayabe City Hospital, Kyoto, Japan; 1992–1993: fellow in internal medicine, Meiji Acupuncture Hospital, Kyoto, Japan; 1990–1991: resident, University Hospital, Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, Kyoto, Japan. He has conducted epidemiological studies on the association between low-sex hormones and metabolic disorders. He is a board-certified endocrinologist (by the Japan Endocrine Society), a board-certified diabetologist (by the Japan Diabetes Society), a board-certified internal medicine specialist (by the Japanese Society of Internal Medicine), and a board-certified specialist (by the Japan Society of Metabolism and Clinical Nutrition and the Japanese Society of Anti-Aging Medicine).
