Prof. Dr. Igor Jurak is an Associate professor at the Department of Biotechnology, University of Rijeka. In 2006, he completed his PhD studies in Natural Sciences from the Julius Maximilian University of Wuerzburg. He was a Postdoctoral fellow at the Robert Koch Institute (2006-2007) and Harvard Medical School (2007-2013). He is a member of AAAS, Croatian Microbiological Society, and The American Society for Microbiology. His interests include viruses, miRNA, HSV-1, HSV-2, herpesviruses, viral pathogenesis, and viral latency.
