Dr. Durgacharan Arun Bhagwat is a Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics (PG) and Head of the Diploma Pharmacy programme at Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Pharmacy, Kolhapur, Maharashtra. With over 18 years of academic and research experience, he holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences and an M. Pharm. in Industrial Pharmacy, securing third rank in university merit. He is an approved postgraduate and Ph.D. research guide of Shivaji University, Kolhapur. His research interests include novel drug delivery systems, pharmaceutical nanotechnology, SNEDDS, nanostructured lipid carriers, cubic nanoparticles, solubility and bioavailability enhancement, herbal formulations, Quality by Design, and analytical method validation. He has published over 84 research papers, authored 11 books, contributed six book chapters, and filed 14 patents, including seven granted patents. He has guided 50 postgraduate students, with four Ph.D. scholars registered under his guidance and one scholar awarded a Ph.D. His achievements include the Outstanding Assistant Professor Award, InSc Best Teacher Award, and Faculty of the Year Awards. His biography was featured in Marquis Who's Who in the World (31st Edition, 2014). He has served as Honorary Secretary of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Kolhapur Local Branch, and contributes to academic administration, scholarly publishing, research evaluation, and professional development.
