Dr. Fernando Díaz-del-Río received his Master in Physics (Electronics) and his Ph.D. from the University of Seville (Spain) in 1990 and 1997 respectively. After working for Abengoa-Control-Data, he joined the Department of Computer Architecture of the Univ. of Seville, where he serves as an Associate Professor since 2000. He was ViceDean of the Computer Engineering School in the same university (2007-10). He is author/co-author of more than 50 papers in refereed international journals and conferences and has participated in more than 20 research projects. Mobile robot navigation, parallel computing and image processing are his main research topics.
