Background: Energy systems, as critical infrastructures (CI), constitute Cyber-Physical-Social Systems (CPSS). Due to their inherent complexity and the importance of service continuity of CIs, digitization in this context encounters significant practical challenges. Digital Twins (DT) have emerged over the recent years as a promising solution for managing CPSSs by facilitating real-time interaction, synchronization, and control of physical assets. The selection of an appropriate architectural framework is crucial in constructing a DT, to ensure integration of enabling technologies and data from diverse sources. Objectives: This study proposes a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to examine technological enablers, design choices, management strategies and Computational Challenges of DTs in Smart Energy Systems (SES) by also analyzing existing architectures and identifying key components. Methods: The SLR follows a rigorous workflow exploiting a multi-database search with predefined eligibility criteria, accompanied by advanced searching techniques, such as manual screening of results and a documented search strategy, in order to ensure its comprehensiveness and reliability, More specifically, research questions are first defined and then submitted as queries to scientific digital libraries (i.e., IEEE Xplore, Scopus, and WoS) selected due to their coverage and reliability (Google Scholar was excluded for the presence of grey literature and non-peer-reviewed material). Then, inclusion and exclusion criteria are established to filter the results and shortlist the significant publications. Subsequently, relevant data are extracted, summarized, and categorized in order to identify common themes, existing gaps, and future research directions, with the aim of providing a comprehensive overview of the current state of DTs for SESs. Results: From the proposed DT-based solutions described in the selected publications, the adopted architectures are examined and categorized depending on their logical building blocks, microservices, enabling technologies, human–machine interfaces (HMI), artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) implementations, data flow and data persistence choices, and Internet-of-Things (IoT) components involved. Additionally, the integration of edge-cloud computing and IoT technologies in literature are studied and discussed. Finally, gaps, opportunities, future study lines, and challenges of implementing DTs are thoroughly addressed. The results achieved also pave the way for a forthcoming design pattern catalog for DTs in CPSSs capable of supporting the engineering and research communities, by offering practical insights on implementation and integration aspects. Conclusion: The proposed SLR provides a valuable resource for designing and implementing DTs of CPSSs in general and of SESs in particular. Furthermore, it highlights the potential benefits of adopting DTs to manage complex energy systems and it identifies areas for future research.

In recent years, multi-view clustering algorithms have achieved promising performance by exploiting the com-plementarity and consistency of different views. However, many multi-view spectral clustering methods only focus on the con-sistent information of views, and the time cost of feature decomposition is expensive. Moreover, these methods also require post-processing (e.g., k-means) to obtain the final clustering results. To overcome these limitations simultaneously, we propose a novel multi-view clustering algorithm. Firstly, the method removes the inconsistent information of the views through cross-view measurement to maintain consistent information. These inconsistencies may be caused by noise, corruptions, or view-specific properties and will affect the quality of the similarity matrix. Then, we learn a consensus embedding matrix with non-negative constraints by performing a low-rank decomposition of the consistency information. In this way, we can replace the eigendecomposition of the n × n Laplacian matrix in spectral clustering with the singular value decomposition of a n × c low-rank matrix to reduce the computational burden, where c ≪ n. Furthermore, due to the non-negative constraint, we can directly obtain the clustering results. Also, to consider the diversity of views, adaptive weighting is applied to different view data. Compared to state-of-the-art multi-view clustering methods on five benchmark multi-view datasets, we demonstrate the superiority and effectiveness of our approach. We release the source code at https://github.com/hulu88/FAMvC .

This research aims to address the current gaps in computer-assisted translation (CAT) courses offered in bachelor’s and master’s programmes in scientific and technical translation (STT). A multi-framework course design methodology is proposed to support CAT teachers from the computer engineering field, improve student engagement, and promote computer-supported education, together with a balanced coverage of the most relevant topics in the CAT domain. STT is currently in high demand in many fields, requiring translators with sector-specific language skills and considerable computer literacy in order to manage translation projects with complex structures, and format heterogeneity. However, many STT curricula often lag behind current market demands, focusing primarily on language and translation theory, with less emphasis on CAT technologies and tools. Moreover, the lack of shared course design guidelines hinders the introduction of innovative teaching approaches based on collaborative learning. A novel multi-framework CAT course design methodology, named CATDeM, is proposed, based on the integration between an official European translation competence framework, real-life-mimicking laboratorial activities, and computer-supported collaborative learning, enriched with discussion case studies and role-playing experiences. A real-life case study is examined to illustrate and evaluate the implementation of CATDeM in two consecutive editions (2020/2021 and 2021/2022) of a one-semester compulsory CAT course in a M.A. degree in STT at the University of Salento (Italy). Students’ perceptions of translation technology and role-plays, as well as their attitudes towards the proposed CAT course are evaluated through a post-grading self-assessment questionnaire. Achieved results indicated successful student engagement and self-assessed improvement in translation, technical, and interpersonal skills. The importance given by students to role-playing experiences mimicking professional scenarios was also highlighted, paving the way for CATDeM to be adopted in similar contexts.
