Prof. Dr. Xiong Yu (M'03) received his B.S. degree in Hydraulic Engineering and B.S. degree in computer science from Tsinghua University, China, in 1997; his M.S. degree in civil engineering from Tsinghua University in 2000; his M.S. degree in electrical engineering and computer science from Purdue University in 2002; and his Ph.D. in civil engineering from Purdue University in 2003. He is currently an associate professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Case Western Reserve University, Ohio. He also holds secondary appointments in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. His recent research activities include bio-inspired sensors, smart materials and structures, and simulation-assisted engineering. Prof. Dr. Yu is a member of IEEE, ASCE, ASME, and SPIE.
