Throughout my career in biological research, my focus has been on unraveling the complexities of cancer biology and exploring innovative approaches to personalized medicine. With a Master's degree in biological sciences from the University of Pisa and a Ph.D. in molecular and experimental oncology, I have dedicated myself to advancing our understanding of cancer progression and treatment response.
One of the highlights of my research journey has been my ground-breaking work in glioblastoma, the most aggressive form of brain cancer. My team and I have developed a novel 3D ex vivo model using glioblastoma organoids and metabolic imaging analysis with NAD(P)H FLIM. This cutting-edge approach allows us to study the response of glioblastoma tumors to various drugs with unprecedented precision and accuracy.
In addition to my work in glioblastoma, my research interests extend to other areas of oncology, including osteosarcoma and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Our studies have yielded valuable insights into the molecular mechanisms driving cancer progression and have paved the way for the development of targeted therapies and precision medicine approaches.
As I continue my scientific journey, fueled by a passion for discovery and a commitment to improving patient outcomes, I am excited to explore new frontiers in cancer research and contribute to the advancement of biomedical science
