Spyros Fountas is a Professor at the Agricultural University of Athens. He received his M.Sc. in Information Technology from Cranfield University and his Ph.D. in Precision Agriculture from Copenhagen University. He served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Thessaly (2005–2013), joined the Agricultural University of Athens as an Associate Professor in 2013, and was promoted to Professor in 2022. He teaches and undertakes research in the area of precision agriculture and agriculture technology. His main focus of research is on the application of precision agriculture in high-value crops. He carries out adoption studies for technology transfer, as well as research on precision agriculture management and technology.
