Associate Professor in Physics at the Department of Experimental and Clinical Medicine of the University of Catanzaro. The main research lines directly followed are: i) Raman/SERS micro-spectroscopy for biochemical studies on different relevant biological topics, such as induced pluripotent stem cells, early diagnosis in tumor progression, study of cancer stem cells, mutations in proteins expression, nano-cytotoxicity ii) Development and fabrication of plasmonic nanostructures for surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) applications iii) Combination of superhydrophobic microstructures with plasmonic nanosensors for developing high sensitivity/high reliable/high reproducible biosensors, towards their routinely application in clinical laboratories iv) Integration of plasmonic nanostructures within microfluidic platforms for the development of novel “Lab-on-Chip” devices with high sensitive spectroscopic readout
