Biography

Dr Emmanuel Moreau obtained a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2001 from the University of Auvergne. He then completed three years of postdoctoral training at the CRCHUQ (Research Center of the Quebec University Hospital, Canada). In 2005, he was appointed Associate Professor of Chemistry (CNU section 86) and has held the Habilitation to Supervise Research since 2007. He conducts his research at UMR 1240 INSERM / Université Clermont Auvergne (IMoST – Molecular Imaging and Theranostic Strategies), where he has led a research team since 2021 focused on the development of innovative tools for cancer imaging and therapy. His research lies at the interface of chemistry, biology, and nuclear medicine, and focuses on the synthesis of anticancer compounds, the development of theranostic radiotracers, and targeted radionuclide therapy. Particular emphasis is placed on the identification of novel biomarkers and the design of radiolabeled small molecules targeting key drivers of tumor progression, within a precision medicine framework. These studies rely on integrated approaches combining organic and radiochemistry, pharmacology, and preclinical imaging (SPECT and PET). Author or co-author of 71 international peer-reviewed publications, he has supervised more than 18 Master’s students and 12 PhD and postdoctoral researchers. He teaches at undergraduate and graduate levels and is actively involved in pedagogical innovation and the coordination of multidisciplinary research projects.
