Prof. Chonghai Xu is Vice President (Vice Dean) at Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences), as well as Dean of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering. He graduated from Shandong University of Technology in October 1998 with a Doctorate in Engineering in Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation under the supervision of Academician Ai Xing. He has worked in the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Shandong Institute of Light Industry since 1998 and was promoted to associate professor in 2001. He then served as Vice Director of Academic Affairs and Director of the Graduate School before becoming Dean of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering in March 2011. He was promoted to associate professor in 1999 and professor in 2001. He then served as Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office and Director of the Graduate School. In March 2011, he was appointed Dean of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, and in April 2025, he became Dean of the Shandong Provincial Mechanical Design and Research Institute. His research focuses on advanced machining technology, and he has received his PhD. He continues to explore advanced processing technology, intelligent equipment and light industry machinery in depth, injecting innovative power into the development of the industry.
