Fu-Yu Tsai received his PhD from National Taiwan University in 1996 under the supervision of Prof. J.-T. Chen. After a postdoctoral position in the group of Prof. T. Takahashi at Hokkaido University (1998-2001) and Prof. C.-Y. Mou at National Taiwan University (2001-2004). He became an assistant professor (2004-2008), associate professor (2008-2011), and full professor (2011- ) at National Taipei University of Technology. His research interests are the development of transition metal-catalyzed organic reactions using water as the solvent.
