Biography

Her research focuses on how oxidative stress–regulated signaling pathways influence skeletal muscle function, particularly in the contexts of exercise, aging, and frailty. She integrates molecular physiology, human exercise interventions, and muscle biopsies to investigate the role of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and redox-dependent adaptations. She is also interested in the molecular effects of bioactive compounds, especially polyphenols, on muscle metabolism, performance, and health, with a strong emphasis on translational research and industry collaboration. More broadly, her academic interests include exercise physiology, redox biology, muscle aging, and the development of methodologies to study human skeletal muscle in vivo.
