Liqiang Ma is a professor, and doctoral
supervisor at China University of Mining and Technology. He once served as the
deputy dean of the School of Mines in China University of Mining and Technology.
He currently serves as the executive vice dean of the Western Energy Research
Institute and the dean of the School of Mining Engineering and Geology at
Xinjiang Institute of Engineering. He holds BS, MS and PhD degrees from China
University of Mining and Technology. He visited Pennsylvania State
University (PSU) in the United States from 2015 to 2016. His research interests
are strata control and water conservation mining, and CO2 geological storage
and utilization. He holds 1 second-class National Science and Technology
Progress Award, 4 first-class and 7 second-class provincial and
ministerial-level Science and Technology Progress Awards. He has been selected
as one of the "New Century Outstanding Talents" of the Ministry of
Education, Distinguished Professor of the "Hundred Talents Plan" of
Shaanxi Province, Jiangsu Province "333 High-Level Talent Training Project"
for young and middle-aged scientific and technological leader. He also serves
as the vice chairman of the Coal Mine System Engineering Committee of China
Coal Society, the vice chairman of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Spatial
Planning Society, and the editorial board of journals such as the Journal of Mining
and Safety Engineering and Energy Engineering.
