As smart transportation systems evolve, secure and efficient V2X communication between vehicles and infrastructure becomes crucial. This paper introduces a Vehicle-to-Blockchain (V2B) communication architecture, leveraging blockchain technology for transparent and decentralized interactions. Our work contributes to the integration of blockchain into V2X and IoT for next-generation transportation systems. We propose several novel blockchain use cases, including a blockchain-based vehicle ownership system based on the multi-token standard, a vehicle scoring system, blockchain–IoT integration, and a decentralized ticket management system for transportation services. The architecture addresses key aspects, such as data integration, validity, and secure messaging, and introduces a decentralized payment system and marketplace for transportation in smart cities. We specifically emphasize the technical implementation of smart contracts for these use cases, underscoring their role in ensuring robust and reliable interactions. Through our decentralized approach, we pave the way for a transformative transportation ecosystem that is adaptable, resilient, and capable of meeting the evolving needs of smart cities.

In a highly competitive environment, companies must guarantee the quality of their products through the quality of the manufacturing process. These processes are the keystone of Systems engineering as a heterogeneous field that consolidates the different aspects of manufacturing a product. This means that the processes participating in systems engineering must be optimized and coordinated. The work in this paper proposes a coherent systems engineering processes model which is validated through some predefined criteria, systems engineering standard EIA 632, and a case study of modeling a simple process.

The rapid growth of blockchain technology hasintroduced newsecurity challengesin decentralized systems. In this paper, we present Block-AD, a Blockchain Attack-Defense Capture The Flag (CTF) competition aimed at improving smart contract security skills and addressing evolving security threats in Next-Web3 environments. Unlike traditional CTF competitions, participants engage in attack and defense actions to exploit vulnerabilities and protect their smart contract services. This game-based approach concludes with rewards distributed from the competition’s vault and the allocation of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) as proof of participation. This approach aims to provide a fun and engaging way to improve the security skills of all participants, as well as to identify and fix vulnerabilities in smart contracts. By combining blockchain technology, CTF methodology, and Next-Web3 security, Block-AD provides a unique and innovative approach for enhancing cybersecurity skills in decentralized systems and smart contracts.

Blockchain technology has experienced significant growth across various industries. However, challenges such as scalability, high transaction fees, and resource inefficiencies continue to limit its full potential. This paper presents a novel approach using a multilayer graph to model and analyze blockchain transactions, with a focus on resource consumption—specifically opcode execution and gas usage. By categorizing accounts into distinct layers—Externally Owned Accounts (EOAs), smart contracts, oracles, and cross-chain bridges—the graph-based model captures interactions across these account types. Through transaction trace analysis, we extract opcode usage and gas consumption, applying graph-theoretical metrics such as node scoring and edge weighting to identify critical nodes and resource-intensive transactions. Our findings provide new insights into resource-heavy behaviors, revealing optimization opportunities to reduce transaction costs and improve scalability. Additionally, the approach aids in anomaly detection and smart contract optimization, enhancing the cost-effectiveness and performance of blockchain systems.
