The mining industry is one of the greatest polluters of the environment and has direct positive and negative impacts on all three pillars of sustainable development: economy, environment and society. Due to the aforementioned, primarily negative impacts on the environment, it is important to implement sustainability principles in the operations of companies in the mining industry. The implementation of the sustainability principle enables the economically profitable, ecologically clean and socially responsible exploitation and processing of mineral raw materials. This means of doing business requires the introduction of clean or green technologies, which are the product of green innovation. The innovation process is highly dependent on knowledge. Knowledge has a great contribution to creativity and the creation of innovation. Accordingly, knowledge management activities and the ability of a company to use and combine different sources of knowledge are essential for the creation of different types of innovation, including green innovation. The research, including the pilot test, was carried out in the period of May–August 2022, whereby convenience sampling was used to obtain 626 employees in six mining companies in Serbia. The structural equation modeling approach was used to evaluate the causal relationship between knowledge management, green innovation and the sustainable operations of the mining industry. The indirect effects of the dimensions of knowledge management, through the dimensions of green innovation, on the dimensions of sustainable development were examined using the bootstrap procedure. The results of the study confirmed the positive direct and indirect relations between the constructs. The research indicates the importance of including all components of knowledge management and green innovation in achieving all components of business sustainability.

As a concept, the green economy refers to the transition from coal to renewable energy sources to reduce pollution, the energy efficiency of production processes to achieve savings, the reuse of materials from waste in business and energy production, changes designed to stop harmful climate change and bring new opportunities for economic development. In this way, conflicts between economic development and environmental issues are resolved, with the aim of achieving sustainability of the economy and society. The aim of the study is to provide a comparative analysis of the level of development of the green economy in selected 20 emerging economies and their progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from the 2030 Agenda using the EEPSE Green Economy Index (EEPSE GEI), based on Quintuple Helix Innovation Model (QHIM), and examine the interdependence between each of the 5 subsystems (quality of education system, economic aspects, political system, civil society, and natural environment) with this index. The results indicate that among the group of countries observed, Estonia is the best performer, while Egypt has the lowest performance. The results, also, indicate the important role of each of the subsystems in EEPSE GEI. The study can be useful for policy makers to identify weaknesses in achieving the SDGs.

The main goal of the research is to determine the effects of the selected factors (organization culture, organization learning, market orientation and innovation culture) on the innovation performance of small and medium-sized enterprises in agribusiness. The Structural Equation Modeling method was used to test the research hypotheses. The results showed that the selected factors are significant determinants of innovative performance. In addition, the relationship between organizational culture and innovation performance, as well as organizational learning and innovation performance, was found to be fully mediated, and the relationship between market orientation and innovation performance was found to be partially mediated by innovation culture. Small and medium-sized businesses should be empowered in the globalized and fiercely competitive market of today by fostering product innovation, investing in the development of human resources and technology, and broadening their market reach. These initiatives are essential to enhancing their marketing plans and successfully taking on competitors.

In conditions of great social changes that have affected the entire world since the beginning of 1980, there is the emergence of new social risks such as difficult labour market entry, stable employment problem, the problem of outdated qualifications, affecting both women and men. In the competitive race for employment, differences between men and women in the market are conditioned by their starting position. The position of women is required by expectations which exist in regard to their gender role. Women are additionally burdened by establishing a balance between work and family responsibilities, especially childcare and with caring for elderly family members.Men are more often employed in areas that are better paid and socially valued, while women are mainly employed in the service sector. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the quality of labour force in the Republic of Serbia and changes in the gender wage gap during the observed period. The main indicators of gender inequality show significant differences in the status of women compared to men in the labour market. Analysis of labour market trends over the past decade has illustrated that the position of women is constantly deteriorating.

In modern business conditions, entrepreneurship, as a significant driver of economic growth and development, is also an important facilitator of women's empowerment in developed and developing countries. In this sense, the aim of this research is to determine whether internal and external factors have direct, positive, and significant effects on women entrepreneurs' success. The research, including the pilot test, was carried out in the period July - October 2022, whereby a convenient sample included 514 female entrepreneurs, whose enterprises operate on the territory of the Republic of Serbia. The causal relationships between observed variables were assessed using the Structural Equation Modeling method. The obtained results showed that both internal (self-confidence, need for achievement, and risk-taking) and external factors (economic and socio-cultural) are significant determinants of women entrepreneurs' success. The results emphasize the need to motivate women to start their own businesses, by organizing various educational courses and workshops and women's support programs by the government.
